A successful first edition: finding staff is easy

Forty guests, one keynote and a clear message: do not publish a job, sell a job. A look back at our first Staff Accelerator networking night.

Guests at the Staff Accelerator networking night

On the evening of Tuesday 28 May we welcomed forty guests at Acom for a networking night built around the Staff Accelerator. Stig presented our approach to recruiting new talent, and his core message was clear: do not publish a job, sell a job.

The Staff Accelerator: a different approach

Stig’s presentation took aim at the traditional model of publishing vacancies, which no longer works in today’s labor market. People spend an average of six hours and fifty-five minutes a day looking at a screen, and you have two to three seconds to catch their attention. So why would you publish flat text?

Instead, companies have to actively sell their open positions. They have to highlight the unique advantages and the room to grow inside the organization, exactly the way they would with a product or a service.

That changes how potential candidates see the position, which makes them more interested and more engaged.

Spontaneous testimonials

One of the highlights of the evening came when several owners spontaneously began sharing their own positive experiences with the Staff Accelerator. Those accounts reinforced how well the method works and gave the room valuable insight and some genuinely inspiring stories.

Networking and collaboration

Beyond the keynote, the evening offered plenty of room to network. Guests could make new contacts, exchange experiences and talk through ideas over good food, champagne and a cocktail or two. That made for a dynamic, interactive setting in which everybody felt at ease.

A worthwhile evening

All in all it was a very successful night, full of valuable insight, new connections and excellent food. The enthusiasm and the positive responses from our guests confirm that the Staff Accelerator is a powerful tool for modern recruitment.

We look forward to organizing more of these evenings, so we can share what we know with more owners and HR professionals.

In short

What is the Staff Accelerator approach to recruiting?

The Staff Accelerator approach to recruiting comes down to one message: do not publish a job, sell a job. Instead of publishing flat vacancy text, companies actively sell their open positions by highlighting the unique advantages and the room to grow inside the organization, exactly as they would with a product or a service.

Why do traditional job postings no longer work?

Traditional job postings no longer work because flat text cannot catch attention in today's labor market. People spend an average of six hours and fifty-five minutes a day looking at a screen, and a vacancy has two to three seconds to catch their attention. Selling the position changes how candidates see it, which makes them more interested and engaged.

What happened at the first Staff Accelerator networking night?

The first Staff Accelerator networking night took place on Tuesday 28 May at Acom, with forty guests. Stig presented the approach to recruiting new talent, several owners spontaneously shared their own positive experiences with the Staff Accelerator, and guests networked over good food, champagne and cocktails.
